Happy Monday! This morning we worked on a new writing piece in Writer’s Workshop. Ask your child what “step-by-step” story he/she told! After Language Arts, we had math, Engineering Tech, Media Center Checkout time, and Science. Ask your child what organisms have moved into his/her terrarium! It was a great way to start the week!

On Thursday, your child brought home an assignment called “Moodle Quiz Homework #1.” It was due today!

Parents, please check your child's Blue Take Home Folder each day to check for mail, homework, and important information.

PLEASE INITIAL YOUR CHILD’S PLANNER EACH NIGHT SO I KNOW YOU ARE AWARE OF THE HOMEWORK AND EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING IN OUR CLASSROOM!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

It is so important that your child complete his/her reading homework each night! It is the number one way for your child to improve! Please have your child take some time to read out loud to you. They also love hearing you read and you are a great model for them!

3rd Grade Math: HL 6.1
Get test signed and show to Mrs. Butzin tomorrow!

4th Grade Math: Our Unit 5 tests came back today. Please get the letter signed tonight and show me the signature tomorrow! Today we spent a large part of our math class learning the “Traditional Long Division” method. This is what you and I grew up with when we went through school. The kids have a packet coming home that needs to be finished tomorrow. Every problem should be completed using the traditional method. I have told the kids that we will be ignoring any other directions in this unit when we are asked to divide. They are excited about that!

Language Arts: Our Chocolate Pudding Paragraph Practice was due today! We will receive a new paragraph assignment tomorrow!

Cursive: We are working hard in class!

Spelling: We took our spelling test Friday and we will receive a new one tomorrow!

Social Studies: We are working on Michigan Studies of geography and government!

Spanish: Please find your teacher’s link on this blog and check for your assignments!

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO USE THE YELLOW CHECKLIST IN HIS/HER BINDER!

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE!!! This helps a lot, so he/she does not have to leave the room when thirsty! Your child is also welcome to keep healthy snacks in our classroom to eat any time!
