It was another great day in room 206! This morning we finished up our awesome novel, “Sign of the Beaver.” The kids and I are excited to compare it to the movie tomorrow! After math we had Spanish, Gym (chemical problems in the pool), and Science. The kids are doing a great job with our Ecosystems unit!

Today your child is bringing home an assignment called “Moodle Quiz Homework #1.” Please help him/her complete this and turn it back in to me by Monday, January 23rd! Thank you!

We have a permission slip due for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Please return with $4 as soon as possible!

We have won the choice hour challenge!!! Your child brought home a movie permission slip to join us for the movie reward on the 27th!!!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

It is so important that your child complete his/her reading homework each night! It is the number one way for your child to improve! Please have your child take some time to read out loud to you. They also love hearing you read and you are a great model for them!

3rd Grade Reading: 20 minutes
4th Grade Reading: 30 minutes
3rd Grade Math: We took our unit 5 assessment today! Students will be focusing on multiplication fact 7 this week. Students will need to work for 10 minutes on Multiplication - skill builders F-7. Review with your child their online score for the previous 5 multiplication timed quiz. Some students need to continue reviewing those skills as well.

4th Grade Math: We took our Unit 5 test today! I will be able to give it back on Monday. Tonight’s homework is 10 minutes of IXL. We are focusing on the multiplication skills under section D.

Language Arts: We have a paragraph practice assignment due on Monday the 23rd!
Ask your child what is happening in our novel, “Sign of the Beaver,” so far! It is a fantastic book and we’re almost done!

Cursive: We are working hard in class!

Spelling: Online assignments need to be completed by Friday, January 20th and the test will be that day as well!

Social Studies: We are working on Michigan Studies of geography and government!

Spanish: Please find your teacher’s link on this blog and check for your assignments!

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO USE THE YELLOW CHECKLIST IN HIS/HER BINDER!

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE!!! This helps a lot, so he/she does not have to leave the room when thirsty! Your child is also welcome to keep healthy snacks in our classroom to eat any time!
